Biomimetic Design

Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain is a gothic cathedral rivaled by none in terms of design and ingenuity...
Having been under construction for over a century, it is the brain-child of reviled and renowned architect Antoni Gaudi. His muse for this project was nature as a whole, viewing the natural world around him as God's creation; the quintessential form of art and design. Gaudi's way of commemorating his love for nature and God was to disregard traditional, linear methods of building in favor of more naturally-occuring, sinewy patterns such as wood, muscle and tendon.
